WorkSafe Youth Video Contest

MARCH 10, 2021 -- WorkSafe Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) invite students in Grades 9 to 12 to create a two-minute video about workplace health and safety. The theme "Focus on safety" must be used. Prizes range from $500 to $1,500.

The contest closes on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge

MARCH 5, 2021 -- The 2021 Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge (formerly Mosaic Extreme School Makeover Challenge) is now open to all Saskatchewan schools. The Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge encourages grassroots initiatives to promote student nutrition and healthier school environments through nutrition-related activities and programming. Cash awards of $10,000 each will be awarded to 10 successful applicants.

Student Citizenship Awards

FEBRUARY 26, 2021 -- Public Schools of Saskatchewan will be recognizing public school student groups or classes that support citizenship or character building within their schools or community by providing annual Student Citizenship Awards. Student groups or classes at elementary and high school will be recognized for their contributions. There will be three $1,000 awards for Grades 1 to 8 and three $1,000 awards for Grades 9 to 12.

Campus Regina Public to Reopen in September 2021!

FEBRUARY 9, 2021 -- Regina Public Schools will once again be offering a full selection of career pathway opportunities for Grades 11 and 12 students through Campus Regina Public (CRP). Because of COVID protocols during the 2020-21 school year, CRP was temporarily closed and opened its doors to provide a space for eSchool K to Grade 12 teachers to facilitate online learning and instruction.

COVID Identified, School Open

February 6, 2021 – the Saskatchewan Health Authority informed us that there was one case of COVID-19 in an individual at Dr. George Ferguson School.

For the safety of students and staff, and in consultation with Public Health, we have informed all close contacts and provided them information about self isolation. Affected students will begin remote learning and will not return to the school until school resumes after the February break on February 22nd.

The school remains open. Letters will be sent to all school families on Monday, February 8, 2021.
